Ion Andreescu

1850-1882 Romania

 

Brief Biography-Ion Andreescu was from Bucharest Romania. He studied with Theodore Aman in the School of Fine Arts for three years and became a tutor of drawing in the city of Buzãu. He studied at the Académie Julian in Paris for two years before joining the Barbizon School under the guidance of Nicolae Grigorescu. In 1881, he died of tuberculosis in Romania and was posthumously made an honorary member of the Academy of Socialist Republic of Romania in 1948.
