|
Brief Biography-Juan de Arellano was born in Santorcaz; he specialised in still-life paintings of flowers. Arellano first studied art in the city of Alcalá de Henares. His primary influence came from Daniel Seghers and Jan Brueghel, the Elder. He began painting floral stills at the age of thirty-six when he realised, they were easier to brush and were more profitable than other genres by his standards. The Italian still-life painter Mario Nuzzi was further inspiration for Arellano. He set up shop in Madrid, where he vended paintings for most of his life. |
