József Borsos

1821-1883 Hungary-Biedermeier

Brief Biography-József Borsos was a Hungarian portraitist who studied in Vienna. Due to financial difficulties he left Vienna in 1861 and settled in Pest. As he was unable to enjoy a living from portraiture alone due to the advent of photography, he opened a photographic studio and a restaurant, they were to be his livelihood for the remainder of his life.
