Vincentas Dmachauskas

c. 1806 Lithuania/Romanticism

 

Brief Biography-Vincentas Dmachauskas was born into a wealthy family and entered Vilnius University where he studied art alongside philology. Due to his part in the November Uprising in 1930, he went into exile in Prussia until 1937 when he was able to return to Vilnius, there he established his own school in 1940. His work subjects are varied but he is noted mainly for his landscapes.
