Hendrik Jakobsz Dubbels

1621-1707 Holland-Baroque

 

Brief Biography-Hendrik Jakobsz Dubbels of the Dutch Golden Age was from Amsterdam where he spent the whole of his life. Painting marine and winter scenes was his specialty. He worked alongside Jan van de Cappelle and William van de Velde the Younger in the studio of Simon de Vlieger. He also spent a year in the studio of William van de Velde the Elder. At one stage in his career he tutored Ludolf Backhuysen and worked for him in his later years.
