William Herbert Dunton

1878-1936 New Mexico USA/Illustrator/Landscapes

 

Brief Biography-William Herbert Dunton spent his early years outdoors in Maine, New England and working as a cowboy out west at any opportunity. He studied at the Cowles Art School, Boston before going to New York City to work in publishing. In 1912, Dunton travelled to Taos, New Mexico and became a founder member of the Taos Art Colony. He is renowned mostly for his depiction of West Country scenes.
