Jan Ekels the Elder

1724-1781 Holland/Rococo

Brief Biography-Jan Ekels, the Elder of Amsterdam, was tutored by Dirk Dalens the Younger. Jan ten Compe the landscape painter influenced him. He painted mostly city views. There is not a great deal of information about Jan Ekels, the Elder; however, there is some more information about his son Jan who was also a successful artist.
