Giovanni Antonio Fasolo

1530-1572 Italy/Mannerism

 

Brief Biography-Giovanni Antonio Fasolo of Lombardy was trained by Giovanni Battista Farinati (Zelotti). Afterwards he entered the atelier of Paolo Veronese, whom he worked with on several frescoes in Vicenza. In the Castello Porto-Colleoni, Thiene, he painted frescoes with both Veronese and Zelotti. He aided Veronese with works in Venice and went on to produce stage designs for the Accademia Olimpica, Vicenza. Later he painted frescoes in villas in the region of Padua and Vicenza. He sadly died of an accident whilst working at the Palazzo del Capitaniato in Vicenza.
