Francesco Granaccci

1477-1543 Italy/High Renaissance

 

Brief Biography-Francesco Granaccci was a Florentine artist who studied under Domenico Ghirlandaio, along with his friend Michelangelo. He was one of several artists who began work with Michelangelo on the Sistine Chapel that were discharged by the tempestuous master. He was strongly influenced by the style of Michelangelo, which is evident in many of his works. He was also influenced by the works of Filippino Lippi He spent most of his life working in Florence where he died in 1543.
