Brief Biography-E .Josephson was a Swedish artist considered to be a painter of folklore and a portraitist. His study years brought him to Italy and other European countries. He suffered from syphilis at an early age. In his later years he became mentally ill, experiencing delusions of grandeur. He spent much of his life in institutions, however he did continue to paint notable paintings up until his death in 1906.
