Brief Biography-Utagawa Kunisada II of the Edo period was a disciple of Utagawa Kunisada I and master of Utagawa Kunisada III. He was an ukiyo-e printmaker of the Utagawa School. He produced forty series of actor prints, in addition to portraits and illustrations. Kunisada II ceased working six years into the Meiji period, and he died in 1880. |
