Hendrik Frans van Lint

1684-1763 Belgium Vedutista-Baroque

 

Brief Biography-Hendrik Frans van Lint was from Antwerp. He left for Italy before is apprenticeship at home was over. When in Rome he joined up with the "Schildersbent", a group of Netherland artists based in Rome. He married in Italy, had ten children and stayed there for the remainder of his life. He was associated with Caspar van Wittel and it is taught he assisted Wittel in his workshop. Van Lint's work included idealized landscape and vedute paintings. He was particularly influenced by Claude Lorrain, Nicholas Poussin and Guido Reni. Known artists who assisted him in his work were Francesco Zuccarelli and Pompeo Batoni.
