Brief Biography-Hendrik Frans van Lint was from Antwerp. He left for Italy before his apprenticeship at home was over. In Rome, Hendrik joined up with the "Schildersbent," a group of Netherland artists based in Rome. He married in Italy, had ten children and stayed there for the remainder of his life. He was associated with Caspar van Wittel, and it is taught he assisted Wittel in his workshop. Van Lint's work included idealized landscape and vedute paintings. His main influences were Claude Lorrain, Nicholas Poussin and Guido Reni. Known artists who helped him in his work were Francesco Zuccarelli and Pompeo Batoni. |
