Brief Biography-Pieter Mulier, the Elder of the Dutch Golden Age from Haarlem, was a student of Simon de Vlieger. Jan Porcellis and Jan van Goyen influenced him. In 1638, Pieter became a member of the Haarlem Guild of Saint Luke. His works were mostly of seascapes with rough waters and sailing vessels. His son Pieter Mulier, the Younger was a student of his.
