Abel de Pujol

1785-1861 France

 

Brief Biography-Abel de Pujol (Alexandre-Denis-Abel de Pujol) was from Valenciennes Northern France. One of his most noted works is the ceiling of the grand staircase in the Louvre, Paris. His master was Jacques-Louis David and he was known to have tutored Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps in his later years. He received the Légion d’honneur and was belonging to the Institut de France.
