Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté

1869-1837 Canada/Impressionism

 

Brief Biography-Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté was a Canadian impressionist painter, born in Arthabaska in 1869. He was also a sculptor and a singer. Suzor-Coté studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie Julian. He operated from his studio in Montreal from 1919, where he painted numerous works. In 1927 he suffered from hemiplegia after a stroke, and he convalesced in Florida, where he spent his remaining days. the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec hold his largest collection.
