Brief Biography-Ion Andreescu was from Bucharest, Romania. He studied with Theodore Aman in the School of Fine Arts for three years and became a drawing tutor in Buzãu. He entered the Académie Julian in Paris for two years before joining the Barbizon School under Nicolae Grigorescu. In 1881, he died of tuberculosis in Romania and posthumously became an honorary member of the Academy of the Socialist Republic of Romania in 1948. |
