Oscar Gustaf Björck

1860-1929 Sweden/Portraitist-Impressionism-Skagen Painters

 

Brief Biography-Oscar Gustaf Björck was born in Stockholm. He received his tuition at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts, later becoming a professor. After being awarded a travel scholarship, his journeys took him to Paris, Munich, Venice, and Rome. Finally, he settled in Stockholm and became a member of the Academy. Peder Severin Krøyer influenced his works, whom he spent time with in Skagen during the summer months, along with a group of other renowned Danish artists.
