Brief Biography-Gabriel de la Corte, born in Madrid, was a majestic painter of flower pieces. His father, Francisco, a painter of perspective according to Palomino, instructed him and Juan de Arellano influenced him. Antonio de Castrejon and Matias de Torres engaged him to paint garlands of flowers to adorn their subjects. Unfortunately, he never gained wide recognition, possibly due to creating an abundance of the same issue, and he died in poverty in 1694. |
