Brief Biography-William Herbert Dunton spent his early years outdoors in Maine, New England, working as a cowboy out west at any opportunity. He studied at the Cowles Art School in Boston before going to New York City to work in publishing. In 1912, Dunton travelled to Taos, New Mexico and became a founder of the Taos Art Colony. He is primarily renowned for his depiction of West Country scenes. |
