|
Brief Biography-Willem Cornelisz Duyster of Amsterdam began his art career as a portraitist but quickly converted to genre scenes. Finally, he became dedicated to mainly painting military settings. He was a student and friend of the artist Pieter Codd, but their friendship ended with a drunken brawl at a party. His expected talents were to equal that of great masters of his time; unfortunately, Duyster died of the plague at the young age of thirty-six. |
