Giovanni Antonio Fasolo

1530-1572 Italy/Mannerism

 

Brief Biography-Giovanni Antonio Fasolo of Lombardy received his tuition from Giovanni Battista Farinati (Zelotti). Afterwards, he entered the atelier of Paolo Veronese, whom he worked with on several frescoes in Vicenza. In the Castello Porto-Colleoni, Thiene and Fasolo worked on murals with Veronese and Zelotti. He aided Veronese with works in Venice and produced stage designs for the Accademia Olimpica, Vicenza. Later Fasolo painted frescoes in villas in the region of Padua and Vicenza. He sadly died of an accident while working at the Palazzo del Capitaniato in Vicenza.
