Paul Gustave Fischer

1860-1934 Demark/Realism

 

Brief Biography-Paul Gustav Fischer was born in Copenhagen of Polish descent. His family were reasonably well off, and he was able to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Art. Cityscapes throughout Europe were initially his central theme. He gained inspiration from Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in Paris and Carl Olof Larsson in Sweden; he also painted in Italy and Germany.
