Carl Gustaf Hellqvist

1851-1890 Sweden/Historical

 

Brief Biography-Carl Gustaf Hellqvist was born in Kungsör in 1851. He studied at the Swedish Royal Academy of Fine Arts, and a scholarship allowed him to tour Europe. He settled in Munich and won awards for his dramatic historical works. His teaching at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin was interrupted by a sudden illness, and he died in Munich in 1890.
