Brief Biography-Lucas Huygens van Leyden was an engraver of copper when he was nine and painted at twelve. He became a pupil of Cornelis Engebrechtsz, and by fourteen, he was a successful artist. His most notable works were the Legend of Saint Hubert and Madonna Enthroned. Albrecht Durer and Jan Gossaert, whom he was acquainted with, influenced his work. |
