Juran

China/Southern Tang. late Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms and early Northern Song Periods.

 

Brief Biography-Juran, his only known name, was from either Jiangning or Zhongling. He was a monk belonging to the Kaiyuan Temple and worked as a disciple of Dong Yuan. He quickly became a highly regarded landscape artist known for hanging scrolls depicting Jiangnan’s southern parts.
