Brief Biography-Philip de László of Budapest studied at the National Academy of Art under Bertalan Székely and visited Paris and Munich. After four years in Vienna, in 1907, he settled in London, marrying a member of the Guinness family from Stillorgan, Dublin. De László was primarily a portraitist for the nobility of the day and received honorary awards in appreciation for his work. |
