Thomas Luny

1759-1837 England/Marine Artist

 

Brief Biography-Thomas Luny was born in Cornwall in 1759. He was a disciple of the marine artist Francis Holman in London. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1780 and 1802. Luny became considerably successful doing commissions for the East India Company. He spent his last years in Teignmouth in Devon, where he died in 1837.
