Brief Biography-Abel de Pujol (Alexandre-Denis-Abel de Pujol) was from Valenciennes Northern France. One of his most notable works is the grand staircase ceiling in the Louvre, Paris. His master was Jacques-Louis David, and he was known to have tutored Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps in his later years. He received the Légion d’Honneur and belonged to the Institut de France. |
