Egon Schiele

1890-1918 Austria/Expressionism-Art Nouveau

 

Brief Biography-Egon Schiele was born in Tulln in 1890. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, where he was displeased with the teachings. As a result, Schiele became a disciple of Gustav Klimt, who had a significant influence on him. He is most famed for his distorted erotic figures. He died of the Spanish flu in 1918. An extensive collection of his works is in the Leopold Museum in Vienna.
