Brief Biography-Adriaen Van Utrecht, a still-life painter, was born in Antwerp in 1599. He studied with the artist and art dealer Herman de Ryt; however, Jan Fyt and Jan de Heem's influences are evident in his works. Utrecht travelled to Germany, France, Italy and Spain, where Philip IV commissioned his paintings. Jacob Jordaens inserted staffage into some of his pictures. Utrecht died in 1652. His paintings hang in notable galleries worldwide. |
