Alfred Wahlberg

Brief Biography-Alfred Wahlberg was born in Stockholm in 1834. After studying music, he switched to painting due to his father’s influence when he was a child. Wahlberg studied under Hans Gude at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in 1857 and spent time in Holland and Belgium. He found success back in Sweden with his landscapes after 1862, and in 1866 he settled in Paris, taking annual trips to Stockholm. He died in Tranås, Sweden, in 1906. |
