Marcos Zapata

Brief Biography-Marcos Zapata was a member of the Cuzco school in Peru, which merged the conquistador’s artistic influence with the Andean culture. He was a native of Cuzco and was also called Marcos Sapaca Inca. He did numerous paintings of the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, among his primarily religious works. His style became renowned throughout South America and influenced later generations of indigenous artists. |
